How can you change the way you are registered as a voter?

I am just curious if changes can be made to how you initially registered.

example: if you are registered a democrat and want to be registered a republican or an independent.

Thank you! :-)How can you change the way you are registered as a voter?
Depends on the state you live in as voter registration laws vary from state to state. For example, in the state of Tennessee a person does not register under a party, a voter declares their party preference at each primary. In other states when you registered under a party you must vote for that party for the entire election cycle, before you can change, which can be up to 2 years. Check with your county election commission office. How can you change the way you are registered as a voter?
yes go to the registar of voters and change affiliation.
Just go down to the Resistors of Voters in your town or City, and tell them you want to change no problem, but be sure to do it in plenty of time before the election you want to vote in.
Go to your local Registar of Voters office
