How can you change the way you are registered as a voter?

I am just curious if changes can be made to how you initially registered.

example: if you are registered a democrat and want to be registered a republican or an independent.

In other states when you registered under a party you must vote for that party for the entire election cycle, before you can change, which can be up to 2 years. Just go down to the Resistors of Voters in your town or City, and tell them you want to change no problem, but be sure to do it in plenty of time before the election you want to vote in.
