How do I edit my Go Mobile device?
To edit a mobile device:
Click the ';Messenger'; menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select ';Preferences.';
Click the ';General'; category.
Click the ';Edit mobile device'; button and enter your Yahoo! ID and password to sign in to Yahoo! Mobile.
Under the Other Mobile Devices section, click the pencil icon to the right of the device. Edit any of the following information:
Device's Make and Model
Device's Name
Daily Message Limit
Click on the ';Save'; button to save changes.

delete first your current mobile number
sign out your yahoo accout then login again
you can now add your new mobile number.

thats my problem too. i lost my mobile phone and now i have a new one. and a new number too. i keep on trying to edit my number but it never seemed to change please help...... cant shift to sms when im not on line. tnx!
