Change Register Xbox 360 to Someone Else ?

Hello,



My friend just received a new Xbox for Christmas ( I know early ) well anyways he gave me his old one because it is broken. It has the red ring of death. I know that you can have Microsoft can fix it but he already registered it under his name, how is there a way to change everything to my name. I will be home all Christmas and he was going to call but we have no idea how to even go about this.

But before doing that, maybe make an Xbox.com account and register it through there, and change the info if it lets you.
